If it suits you to drive to Whakahoro the day before your trip, there is a DoC hut situated very conveniently opposite the Wades Landing outdoor base. Note that those exiting the river from Pipiriki, will need to return to Whakahoro. This adds 90 km's of road travel on to your overall trip. This can be overcome by having your vehicle ferried to Pipiriki.
Shuttle Service
Wades Landing Outdoors passes through the accommodation outlet's at 8-8.30am and will meet you at reception. Pick-ups also take place from the Raurimu base and from private addresses. At the end of your trip, the shuttle will take you back to your original pick up point, unless requested otherwise.
Vehicle Parking
Available at Whakahoro, Owhango, Raurimu and Taumarunui for those driving to the area on the day of their trip. Accommodation outlet's are usually happy to have your vehicle left with them.
Vehicle and Passenger Ferrying
We offer a complete range of vehicle and passenger ferrying. We can arrange to have your vehicle stored and delivered to you at your destination point - P.O.A.
